OUR Angel
Charlize "Angel"
Charlize was a bright and shining star to all who knew her. She had a mesmerizing smile that lit up every room. Char Char, as she was affectionately known, was very focused, driven, and was an exceptional student who made the most of every educational opportunity. She loved her Baltimore Polytechnic Institute Engineers as well as her Morgan State University Bears. While she was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer in her freshman year at Morgan, and diagnosed with Leukemia cancer during her sophomore year she continued to maintain a 3.0 or better GPA even while battling her illness.
Charlize loved giving back to her community, and her induction into the National Council of Negro Women at Morgan State was evidence of her philanthropic spirit. Charlize loved her family and she also loved the Lord. She was an active member of New Antioch Baptist Church her entire life, and served on various children's and youth and young adult ministries. In spite of her illness, she continued to encourage and pray for others who were dealing with their own personal issues, including befriending and witnessing to the nursing staff at John Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Department, who cared for her. Charlize will be forever cherished by all with whom she had the opportunity to share a little of her light. As she continues to share her heavenly love and gifts... We realize that she is "Stronger with Wings!"
